Hello sophomore parents.
It is the start of the 2010/11 season. As you may have noticed there has been a minimal amount of communication going to parents in the past month. We hope going forward more information will trickle down.
Website: It sounds like there will be more information being given to Karen Larkin so the website can be kept up to date. So please check weekly. Parent meeting: We did not have all families present for the meeting held Wednesday Dec. 1st in the cafeteria. Jeff Evans talked about the program and the boosters collected the booster feeds and talked about volunteer needs for the program.
Boosters: If you were not present the booster form is attached. You need to write a booster check to: Jefferson Back Court Club for $75. That money should go to Nancy Hovilla (varsity captain mom). or it can be given to Denise Thoen or Sheila Bodway.
Volunteers:
Concessions: The sophomore parents are in charge of supplying and opening the concession stand for all home varsity games during the season. Diane McNutt was gracious enough to get the download from last years leads. She will be reaching out to everyone for volunteer help. Each family will be required to help in this capacity, if we all do our share it should amount to a couple of games during the season. For sophomores that are playing up, families are still being requested to participate in concession volunteering.
Picture board: At the end of the year there is a team board that will be displayed at banquet. We need a volunteer to put that board together. There will be a photographer available at some of the games but pictures donated by parents would be great.
Program needs: There are also program level volunteers needed to help with parent night
Team wear: Team wear will be available for ordering. There were not samples at the parent meeting.
Approximate cost: $ 75 - 80 (final pricing is still being determined)
Denise will be heading up figuring out the orders.

They are not taking piece orders, every athlete will need to buy as a package

Once orders are in the booster club will provide the final pricing (they have to wait to see what kind of discount they can get). checks will be made out to: Jefferson Backcourt club. Checks once pricing finalized. It will not be more than $80
Spaghetti dinners: A Jefferson tradition is for a family (or families) host a team dinner the night before a home game. The dinner is usually immediate following practice and requires a few parents be willing to drive the kids over to the hosts home and that each boy find their own ride home. This doesn't mean everyone has to serve spaghetti the menu is determined by the hosts. below is a volunteer sign up sheet. Please put your name in the slot you want, if you are doing it with someone please put the name of both families.
