CHANGES TO OUR RESIDENCY POLICY

This year, the Bloomington Lions was established to replace the Kennedy Traveling program.  These are changes that will be made to our Parent Tryout Handbook based on our meetings with the Bloomington Lions as well as MYAS (Minnesota Youth Athletic Services).  To help explain these changes, we will break the players into three groups:

1.       New players to Jefferson Boys Traveling Basketball

·         Must physically and legally reside within the Bloomington Jefferson High School District.  Players that do NOT reside in the Bloomington Jefferson High School District must receive a signed Player Transfer request from their home association.  NOTE:  Player Transfer requests will be reviewed by the JBTBA Board on a case by case basis for approval.  Per MYAS rules, a team is only allowed a maximum of one Player Transfer athlete.

2.       Players that have played one year for Jefferson Boys Traveling Basketball

·         Same as the new players to the JBTBA, must physically and legally reside within the Bloomington Jefferson High School District.

3.       Players that have played two or more years for Jefferson Boys Traveling Basketball

·         These players will abide by the previous Residency Policy which states:  Must physically and legally reside within the Bloomington Jefferson High School boundaries OR attend a school that acts as a feeder program for the Jefferson High School.  Should these players reside in the Kennedy High School district, they will not be required to receive a Player Transfer from the Bloomington Lions.

IMPORTANT NOTE:  ALL PLAYER TRANSFER REQUESTS MUST BE RECEIVED BY THE JBTBA BOARD NO LATER THAN SEPTEMBER 11TH IN ORDER TO BE REVIEWED FOR APPROVAL.
