The Jefferson Boys Traveling Basketball Association (JBTBA) exists to provide an opportunity for boys to compete in an environment that emphasizes fundamental basketball skills, teamwork and good sportsmanship. Winning, although important, is secondary to development and having fun.
The JBTBA is for boys who are looking to be challenged at a competitive level and to continue to develop their skills. Our teams compete in a minimum of ten tournaments that have been scheduled by the JBTBA with feedback from our coaches. Tournaments are held on weekends and games are typically played on Saturdays and Sundays.
All boys in the program are required to try out in order to make a team. Team roster sizes are normally 8 -10 players.
Should you have any questions, feel free to email us at JBTBAjaguars.firstname.lastname@example.org
For the 2020-2021 season, all parents, coaches and players will be required to sign a Code of Conduct form prior to the first practice of the season. Parents, please read through the Player Code of Conduct form with your son in case they may have questions about something they might not understand.
We are joining a lot of associations across the country and state in using these Code of Conducts. Some associations are predicting a shortage of basketball referees for this upcoming season and some associations may have a hard time finding officials for their tournaments. Based on surveys and questionnaires, more and more officials are quitting citing "abuse" from parents, coaches and players.
Should you observe any unsportsmanlike behavior from any parent, coach or player (from Jefferson or any other association), please report this to the JBTBA Board immediately.
Code of Conduct Forms, as well as questions regarding the forms, can be sent to Tom McInerney at Tom@mcinerney.biz.
